Solar Panel / Energy?
I am doing a project for school and I am a little confused on the panels and solar energy. I'm looking for proposing the installation of solar panels to power the computer lab at my school. From what I've read a computer and monitor use about 350 watts per hour. I looked to solar panels and is said to produce different energy. For example, I saw an output of 200 watts. Does that mean 200 watts in a day? Or per hour? Please help.
Rating a solar panel is a continuous maximum. A 200 watt panel will provide a maximum of 200 watts under ideal conditions. A computer and monitor use around 400 Watts. no time – watts is volts * amps and a measure of power. In 1 hours and a computer monitor Watt 400 hours (Wh). Wh is a measure of energy. To feed a laboratory of 10 computers, you need 10 * 400 = 4000 Watts. To run the solar panels on a day you need a panel of 4000 watts. Except – the clouds, the sun is in the wrong place – many factors to reduce production. To be reasonably sure it needs some 12,000 watts panel. So you need batteries to store energy for periods of deaf and a voltage converter to change the current low-voltage Continuous solar panels to the grid voltage for equipment.
