Electricity Question?
School I have to build a house that has 5 parts for the electrical work, I can do anything in power, what I want and have a couple of solar cells left science fair and I thought it would be great if I made a "green" home for the project. I wondered what kinds of things with a DC power source and use very little power, because as I said, I'm only a few cells so that all connected through cables under very bright light i can get 6 watts to let see how I am limited. instant messaging and reasons not to buy a converter for $ 1,000 in exchange for mains, either (for obvious). I would not bother with solar cells. You can charge a battery that can run an LED or two with them, but that's all. The houses have refrigerators, ovens, fans, waste disposal, and computers, all have much more power than solar cells. AC Converter you would do no good, AC or DC power source is too low by a factor of perhaps 100. Then wire your house up to 120 volts, which is probably what they want to do. You will learn how the wiring is done and how power is distributed.
