Heat pumps are as good as the solar water heater?
I live on the NSW south coast and I am considering installing a system solar hot water. I recently read about heat pumps, but found no comparisons between the systems. Can anyone advise?
They are different. If you are willing to risk not having hot water occasionally, but to test the free hot water after the cost of installing the system or simply to have a backup electricity or gas. The heat pump will run whenever you have the power that is probably almost always, but it costs money to run once you have paid for the installation. I geothermal heat pump to heat and cool my house in Wisconsin. In summer it is hotter than my water cooling of the house but can not free use. In my opinion, if you are thinking about going solar hot water, because once I love working almost for free and free.
